I didn’t sleep well last night. Maybe it was because of the discount sushi I bought at Jusco. All the big stores here discount fresh food items after 7:00 and they are very busy during that final hour until closing. In any event, I woke up this morning feeling a little woozy (and I don’t think it was from the Orion beer I finally downed last night) and with a touch of the tummy gremlins.
Had to do some last minute running around to deliver omiyage to one of my friends who dropped by the hotel last night while I was out. At the suggestion of another tour member and his wife, I was riding the Yui Rail to see the Naha lights. Very nice indeed. Today is unfortunately already very warm and humid and I’m still trying to cool down after walking to Heiwa Dori, about a half mile away. I didn’t realize just how humid it is until I saw one of the hotel staff members wiping the ceiling air conditioning vents. I thought she was dusting them, until she told me she was wiping up condensation.
I love the people here but I don’t know if I could ever adapt to the humidity. I have unbridled admiration for the man who invented air conditioning.
Well, the rest of the group has already left for the airport. I told them I’d come down on my own via Yui Rail and it’s time to go.
