What?! Okinawan music on the Big Island? Yup.
On Sunday, June 18, 2006, there will be a performance of Okinawan music called “Uchinanchu nu Takara” (Treasures of Okinawa) and it will take place at the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Performing Arts Center. General admission is $15.00 and students (18 and under) get in for a very affordable $5.00. This is also the 60 year anniversary of Hui Okinawa (Big Island).

Waga Okinawa Kariyushi nu Udui

The performance is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. with the price of admission at a pre-sale $10 and $15 on the day of the performance.
