I watched a couple episodes of “Ōoku’s” first season (Fuji TV 2003) and I never would’ve imagined that it would have such a large following—enough to have a film version made for it. Well, the TV version (three seasons of it) has had its share of A-List actresses and for the film version we’re in for a treat as NAKAMA Yukie (26) will be starring in it. An interesting side note is that Yukie’s recent roles (television and film) are as jidaigeki heroines beginning with the 2005 film “Shinobi” and on to her current role as Chiyo in NHK’s “Koumyou ga Tsuji” Taiga Drama. The “Ōoku” film is set to be released in Japan on December 23rd. [Via nikkansports.com.]
